They’re both top of the range, but the differences between them spend some many of which are quite remarkable: in the first line, there is no doubt the price much different: € 349 for Nexus 5 and 699 € for S5 Galaxy , talking, of course, list prices below which you can very easily find these smartphones. Anyway today we decided to compare S5 Samsung Galaxy Nexus and LG 5, to assess whether it is actually justified the difference in price .
Obviously, beyond price Official List , you can buy smartphones in a few euro more on the various store Online including of course Amazon. LG Nexus 16GB 5 347.7 € on Amazon.it and 16GB Samsung Galaxy S5 to 599 € on Amazon.it.
Hardware
In terms of performance, the differences are really minimal, and we must admit that the Nexus 5 , since the software much better optimized, manages to be much faster than the top of the range home Samsung in quite a few conditions. In any case, however, generally speaking, the Nexus 5 loses points on every single aspect of multimedia, where instead the S5 Galaxy excels in every aspect.
As regards, however, the materials of construction of the two smartphones, we both have two shells in plastic, not removable on the Nexus 5, while polycarbonate with a texture very pretty on Galaxy S5 also is also removable. Here, then, find the respective data sheets of the two smartphones, and as you can see, the differences are not are many .

As we said, the differences are really minimal, but actually can be seen in everyday use? And above all, this is justified big difference in price ?
Display
By comparison, at least in terms of size, are very similar these two displays: the S5 Galaxy features a panel from 5.1 “inches with a resolution, of course FullHD while the Nexus 5 LG is presented with a diagonal equal to 4.95 “inches, also in FullHD resolution. Where are the differences? In the type of technology used respectively by the two smartphones: IPS on Nexus Super AMOLED on Galaxy 5 and S5.
As you know the result in various situations is different; in some cases the ‘ IPS Nexus 5 proves even better if put in comparison to Super AMOLED panel that integrates the S5 Galaxy , any other display, though of good quality, vanishes completely.
Multimedia
As already mentioned, in fact multimedia, the LG Nexus 5 is a device that loses almost under every aspect. In comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S5, starting from the speaker in the first place, we have a much lower quality than the range-topping Korean. The device by Samsung, in fact, even though the speaker in the back cover and, therefore, covered, fails to provide a better sound for both quality and volume compared to Nexus 5 that will undoubtedly mount the speaker in a more favorable position.
Continuing, then, with FullHD video playback both fail to reproduce very simple and trouble-free samples in various formats, and of course without any kind of slowdown. Speaking of quality it is logical that the viewing experience is more on the smartphone that has the best display and speaker, so the S5 Galaxy .
Closing the multimedia side, we tested with excellent results Asphalt 8 on both devices, and it’s really pointless to be here to talk about the quality and any delays that, in fact, there were seen the ‘hardware at the top of the two devices
Camera
Again, we tend to talk even for these two multimedia smartphone, and once again we find the Nexus 5 quite a disadvantage compared to the Galaxy S5. Speaking of sensors, the difference is remarkable: we 8 megapixel on Nexus 5, while we have the double 16 megapixels Samsung S5 Galaxy which, among other features, it also has video recording in 4K UltraHD.
colors Galaxy S5 , even more contrasted, are undoubtedly more real compared to Nexus 5 that, in any condition, comes with color duller and much colder. Here above in the meantime, you can see some shots made with the two smartphones, we also compared the HTC One M8 together in a clash between cameras.

As you can see in the graphic, the two software are completely different, of course, about the customizations that both producers implement on their devices. In any case Nexus 5 is a pretty interface Pure Google , as it should be, with a fluidity that reaches levels not seen on other smartphones. Galaxy S5, however, with its new TouchWiz is without a doubt the smartphone with the best graphics customization (of course, De gustibus ..), but also with the worst optimization ever view lately. In several days of use we had not few crash and slowing down the system interface itself, which is definitely positive.
Autonomy
the Galaxy S5 2800 mAh 2300 mAh compared with only 5 of the Nexus , I think may be enough to explain the difference is that the autonomy of these two smartphones. Although Galaxy S5 has a slightly higher hardware from food, unable to get up without any problems at night with a full charge and over 4 hours of screen on.
Nexus 5, however, fails to have the exact same range, but if the quarry pretty well, if we take into account that the smartphone has been optimized by Google itself, and thus enjoys, the highest optimization possible.
Conclusion
The price difference, after all, is really great, but the differences in daily use should be in favor of the Galaxy S5 only in ‘ realtivo multimedia aspect, where the Galaxy S5 has very few rivals. In daily use, however, the Nexus 5 unable to cope without difficulty at the top of the range by Samsung which, unfortunately, is guilty of optimization in many situations.
