Not entirely unexpected

we get the news from the team about the support of Ubuntu Touch Nexus series of devices. In fact, the Ubuntu team has decided to cut the media and to terminate the development of Ubuntu Touch for three Nexus devices, or Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 10 and the first version of the Nexus 7 .

It is a logical choice for Canonical wants to concentrate on the release of the first Ubuntu Phone without dividing their forces on a third party device. But there

is also a downside since cutting support to these devices the pool of potential users of Ubuntu Touch is greatly reduced.

As for the Nexus 5 the team will wait for the arrival of Ubuntu 14:04 to begin the work of porting, so users of Google’s flagship smartphone will have to wait for April to be able to fiddle around with Ubuntu Touch .

With this move, we expect an acceleration of the development of the Nexus 4 and the latest model of the Nexus 7, even if the work of Canonical seem focused on the future Ubuntu Phone that should arrive during the year. We just have to wait and wish you a good job for the team Ubuntu .
