Among the most frequently asked questions we have placed lately, for sure there is one relating to a possible transition from the Nexus 4 to the new Google device, namely the Nexus 5 for which we have already done a thorough review and some comparisons with other smartphones (like HTC One or iPhone 5S). Today we will try to answer this question through a video comparison where we have tried to highlight the differences between the two devices.
From the point of view of materials the Nexus 4 presents with glass front and rear, and an edge polycarbonate rubber, while the Nexus 5 is fully rubberized polycarbonate, very pleasant to the touch but has a bit ‘lost that feeling of “premium product” that you had with the Nexus 4 when it was used on a daily basis. The Nexus has a 5 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 800 quad-core 2.3 GHz, while the Nexus 4 processor with two previous generations, namely the Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz, always Qualcomm, the Ram is 2GB for both devices and the display is 4.95 inches for Nexus 5 with Full HD resolution and 4.7 inch with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels for the old device from Google.
Regarding the operations that we perform every day, we found no particular differences, the Nexus 5, however, is probably more responsive in everyday management capabilities and for sure the change of processor do you feel when performing heavy operations such as can be gaming, or the management of many programs at the same time expensive resources. Concerning the multimedia sector we have two cameras with 8MP , but with optical stabilizer for the Nexus 5 and higher overall sound quality, which you can evaluate yourself through our sample.

software is obviously identical, ie the official version of Android 4.4 KitKat came from a few days on the Nexus 4, which is why we decided to wait to make the comparison, as it would made sense to compare devices with two different versions of Android since we are talking about Nexus device, or with a pre-release version of the software. In fact there is a difference relative to the interface and the camera: the first has been completely renovated on the Nexus with 5 such as transparent rods or the presence of google now in the home, but in reality you can simply install the apk of the new launcher to have a UI identical to that of Nexus 5 also on the Nexus 4. As for the camera on the software side, the only difference is the presence of HDR + 5 on the Nexus instead of the classic HDR Nexus 4.
Price Nexus 5 is 359 € for the 16 GB version, 399 for the 32 GB, while the Nexus 4 can be purchased online at a price of 259 Euros, even if it is not available on some store.
