Nexus 5: Some displays will tend to yellow, the other white - Everything Android

Into All smartphones of the same model should be identical, or at least not present significant differences. We also know, however, that all manufacturers of digital devices (smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc. ..), when they launch a new device on the market, making a hardware revision in order to improve (or correct) some aspects. The problem

We want to point out that the two Nexus 5 are both Rev 11 (same hardware revision), both with the same build (KRT16M), both with the same kernel, both with the same bootloader, both stock , both without protective film and both at full brightness. Apparently, then, the two smartphones would be completely identical, but apparently it does not. Below we have added some photos in which you can clearly see how the Nexus 5 on the left has a display with more colors white while the right has a display with more yellow color.

Into Why, then, two smartphones are identical in every detail this difference ? Some might even venture the hypothesis that the Nexus 5 with more yellow color display is a defective terminal among the many non-defective returns that have been sold, but it really does not seem to be so. There are many users who claim that the display of their Nexus 5 has more yellowish color, and also the Nexus 5 come to the office suffers from this “problem”. This could in part justify a difference in the display, but on condition that the displays themselves are exactly the same on both smartphones.

Into Another possible reason could instead be linked precisely to the display itself. LG and Google could equip their Nexus 5 with different displays depending on the availability of stocks of the displays themselves. It might therefore have occurred such a situation: LG was not able to sustain the pace of production of display for the Nexus 5 (as it must also produce displays for its devices) and may have been “resting” for a short period of time to another manufacturer for the supply of Full-HD display for your smartphone.

Into Another possible reason, however, could be linked to the price of the smartphone. LG and Google , to save money and reduce the price of the Nexus 5 , may have decided to enter into agreements with another manufacturer of the display which units were offered at a lower price than those produced on their own. For this reason, the Nexus 5 may have been made with display “mixed”.

Into course, these are all assumptions that currently is not confirmed, but we hope to soon receive more official information.

Into How then can solve this problem? As mentioned before, it would not be a real problem because, in everyday use, it is hard to see these details which may be relevant to some and less relevant to others.

Into One possible solution could be the modding. Using a modified kernel (Franco Kernel comes to mind but they should exist but are), you might be able to change the hue of the colors of the display of your Nexus 5, since it looks like it is in shade.

Into Another possible solution, however, would be to refer to assistance Google . Fabio has decided to opt for the second street contacting support Google Play , and was told that Google will replace your phone with a new specimen within a maximum of 4/5 days.
