Adapters and Miracast Nexus 5, here are some test - Eeevolution

Do you have a Nexus 5 and would like to combine an adapter Miracast? Here are some helpful suggestions. Androidpc.es put online the tests performed with some of the low-cost Miracast dongle available on the international market (read: Chinese) with prices ranging from 22 to 30 euro. The smartphone Google is being used as a guinea pig for flexible and easy to find, but also because among the few with Android 4.4 Kitkat. The results are not good: only one of the four tested Miracast dongle can not connect and keep the signal in a convincing way. In detail.

Cloudnetgo CR-M200 – With this adapter Miracast, Nexus 5 connects but lose the signal after a few seconds. It ‘a model with Rockchip CPU 1Ghz, 256 RAM, GPU Mali400, Wireless N 300 Mps. It costs about 29 Euros on aliexpress (preferably in the official store CloudnetGo).

Eytech PTV-2/1 – This dongle is not able to connect to the Nexus 5 even with the latest ROM available. He Mips processor at 600 Mhz, 256 MB RAM, 150 Mps WiFi N 2.4Ghz and Linux system. Available for about 30 Euros on aliexpress and the like.

EZcast – Connects to Nexus 5, but due to random reboots to the smartphone. Unusable at the moment. E ‘with an adapter Actions CPU 600/1000 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, WiFi N 150 Mps and Linux. It costs about 31 € on the usual Chinese shops.

ZK Miracast – It ‘s the only one who manages to abbinarsi Nexus with 5 but in contrast has a reception and a short lag is not negligible. It ‘also the only one with Mediatek SoC among those tested. It costs less than the others, about 22 € on aliexpress.

test androidpc.es is a complete failure, mainly due to missing optimizations for Android 4.4. Are there new firmware update for expanding compatibility Miracast dongle, but there are certain dates and times reliable. In the field of adapters Miracast follow the same rules as non-Mini PC Android, so we just have to take and assess what is at the moment. Some of the dongle Miracast mentioned in the article are also sold under different names, under another brand, use MediaTek SoC and Rockchip, then cover the shades available.

These devices are very cheap, but also suitable only for experienced people, who knows the reset procedures, knows how to move and play around with upgrades including custom rom and drivers. All the others would do well to wait for more mature products. I’m coming models “brand”, a thread more expensive but also more complete and stable. The latest ASUS Miracast Dongle (with WiFi Dual Band) and Lenovo adapters are exactly WD100 Miracast to which I refer, but also the various Netgear already on the market should give better results.
