Google Nexus 10, proof of tablet Full HD - Wired.it

Into Never seen so many pixels on a tablet. But that’s not all: the Google tablet is among the absolute best in the rest

Price ND Category : tablet 10 “full touch
System Operating : Android 4.2
Manufacturer : Samsung / Google
Availability March 2013

Into It’s been a few months since the Nexus 7 mini tablet android who first heard really win the hearts of the users. The winning formula was the most obvious and effective competitive price and top performance. Now the large version wants to impose on competitors of equal tonnage still playing on quality and economy. The arena of the 10 “is very crowded.

Nexus 10, designed by Google and manufactured by Samsung, clearly shows the imprint of the two technology giants: the lines of the tablet prefer curves in a similar way to what we saw in the last Galaxy S, while the shape of the tablet is nearly oval and unconventional, with very rounded corners that allow you to carry the Nexus in any situation without hassle.

But if the new Google tablet can be admired even when turned off, once you turn makes you gape. The display will pack a number of pixels that beats every record in the category and not only 2560×1600 points , where the latest iPad stops at just and a few laptops come with 2048×1536 effort to Full HD.

Also the viewing angle and color fidelity are ok, but the focus of the Nexus 10 is precisely the definition . With a good view, you do not even need to zoom in more web pages of dense text, and content from larger fonts are indistinguishable from counterparts in print. In general, text and images are the tenants of the beloved tablet Google: In addition to the web so there are at the top of the social networks, but also news feeds, email, and photos.

The operating system (Android 4.2) and the processor (a powerful dual-core Exynos 5 well-supported by 2 GB of RAM) make the experience snappy and smooth, as well as visually satisfying. However, a screen so advanced is not free from side effects : app ecosystem set up by Google are not all designed to take advantage of a resolution of the genre (many actually do not even think for the tablet). The result is that the interfaces of some programs show chasms of empty space between a conte nt and the other. Facebook is a prime example: much better to use the web version in desktop mode, but it is less practical and friendly touch of the app official.

The other components are of high standard, but at par with the best Android tablet in issue: there are a decent 5 megapixel camera with flash plus a front-facing 1.9, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth (although in version 3.0). In fact, the lack of an option for connecting phone and a microSD slot were felt in our test, but the final judgment is still largely positive: of course, if you’re looking for something specific like the nib of the Galaxy Note 10.1 or the coupling to the keyboard of the Nexus series Transformer Pad 10 will not do for you. But excluding accessories and special niches, the Android tablet from Samsung and Google is most advanced on the square. Too bad, that as the Nexus 4, is not distributed in Italy: you have to buy it abroad or – paradox ically – look for it on Amazon.
