It is pleasing to note, however, that the choice of the U.S. space agency falls down on Nexus One device that can boast a very strong structure and small size.

The small cube-shaped satellite will have the task to collect data for two weeks, to kick off sometime in the future projects of this type similar but more common, they will use massively hardware the smartphone also capture photographs from geostationary orbit.

It is estimated that this type of satellite, consisting of a cube, a lithium battery and three very large smartphone, has a production cost of only 3500-7000 dollars, drastically reducing the investment needed to this type of equipment.

Of course these satellites now have a limited role compared to more complex solutions.
