Speculations | Nexus 10 2014 4 or even Tegra Tegra K1 - HDblog (Blog)

Nexus 10 2014

The lack of a successor to the Nexus 10 has moved a lot of speculation at the end of 2013, but none has been confirmed and the tablet has not come out. Many are waiting for a new 10-inch Nexus device and, in particular, users of markets where the Play Store official has come only in recent times with the option to buy only the Nexus 2013 edition (see Italy).

Considering that 2014 has already begun, the next Nexus 10 could likely be postponed to the next Google I / O expected around the month of May. Hence the speculation pointing to a hypothetical processor Tegra 4 which, however, may actually be a Tegra K1 32-bit CPU with Kepler.

Unfortunately there seems to be no real movements for the first half of 2014 within the 64-bit and yet all the news with this architecture and possible optimizations and software adaptations seem too far away. Qualcomm showed no significant changes and with the exception of Snapdragon 805, expected not before a few months, the S800 is the most convincing solution.

Hence the hypothesis that an upcoming Nexus 10 can take advantage of the new solution Tegra K1 is also interesting because, in addition to the new graphics card, Nvidia seems to be able to take advantage of up to 4GB of RAM even though the base of the SoC is a Cortex-A15 32-bits. This of course does not mean that the Nexus will have a Tegra 2 014 10 K1 with 4GB of RAM, but given the chance, considering the poor news for the first half of 2014 compared to the CPU within the end of 2013, speculation holds up.
