Ratchet & Clank: Before the Nexus - Everyeye.it

Even Sony has finally succumbed to the lure of the App Store. The digital distribution platform from Apple, moreover, is so widespread that it would probably be foolish not to consider it – if nothing else – an effective marketing tool. Shortly before the launch of Ps4, therefore, on the iPhone has made its appearance the first game published by Japanese publisher: the Knack’s Quest that has not been revealed, in the end, too satisfactory. Just a few weeks after she arrives instead Ratchet & Clank : Before the Nexus , a noticeable delay compared to the regular release of the last chapter of the adventures of the Lombax and his metallic friend.
Unfortunately, this second experiment is to say essentially failed: Darkside of the boys, the team responsible for moving this episode, we deliver an endless runner and intriguing little spoiled by a bad control system optimized for nothing and reactive .
Despite efforts to bring in this stripped down version of all the images in the series, including weapons and gadgets unlikely that fans have come to know, the most obvious problem of Before the Nexus , however, seems to be want to join-as did Knack’s Quest to a fee-abusatissimo now in the mobile environment : wanting to force adapt to the rhythms of “hit and run” in many other productions, but without having the carat weight, the immediacy and responsiveness of Temple Run and followers.
As the title suggests, Before the Nexus you are settling before the (mini) adventure recounted in title came out a few weeks ago on the PlayStation 3. He tells us, therefore, as Ratchet has captured Vendra Progg , which at the beginning of “Nexus” is in chains into a huge prison ship. In truth, the beginning is so perfunctory and uninteresting that it will be really hard to feel some connection to the main game.
Pass the presentation screens, in fact, without further ado we launched in pursuit of the enemy, discovering that Before the Nexus is structured as a simple endless runner. Ratchet runs “in depth”, and our task is to move into one of three “lanes” that split the track to avoid obstacles and enemies.
With a swipe side jump to the right and left, and of course we can jump and keep your finger on the screen, perform a glide that allows us to overcome the cliffs wider.
Before the Nexus In short, ideally configured as a simple and direct way, which picks up Jetpack Joyride and from all congeners that have followed the opportunity to purchase upgrades with bolt gathered in the street, and a system of quests that need to be overcome to earn some extra bolt.
Given the warlike spirit of the main saga, the team wanted to include some weapon, with which you can shoot enemies that stand in the way. Ideally it would be enough to touch the screen to bring focus to the desired point, but here the problems begin. The game recognizes the input with extreme fatigue, and often instead instead of shooting you end up skipping or changing lanes, a problem that is very confusing and seasoned often to premature deaths. Even when things work, the system is not the most immediate: indeed while you shoot you are likely to cover the finger with the obstacles and pitfalls that we face, making it quite problematic survival. Finish the bullets, then a warning pops up on the screen that invites us to buy more, and who does not want to learn disappear, reducing visibility.
Ratchet & Clank Before the Nexus is a short put disaster: not only relies on a formula of the game over and over again, but with a control system and an inaccurate invasive and chaotic, it creates a confusion that is so terrible want to leave the game immediately.

The system of development of weapons and armor is not convincing: ideally we can buy new gadgets, weapons and armor alternatives that allow us to withstand a few shots, but after a few minutes you will understand that the number of bolt required for upgrades is really exaggerated , and that microtransactions are the only system to secure a progression that is not slow, repetitive and tedious. But investing some money in Before the Nexus would really be a little careful choice: the title is a little clone vulgar and so many other titles that could not even shine with inventive, and offers an ever challenging and little fun.
Even the graphics leave much to be desired (omit pity the quality of the sound effects with invasive and annoying), because of a very marked and aliasing patterns of the enemies that define uninspired is a subtle understatement. Even the biggest fans of the series, in fact, be able to defer: though it may perhaps be pleasant the idea of ??using the paraphernalia of classic Ratchet in a mobile game (there is also the Groovitron), enthusiasms are killed at birth from an overall implementation worthless.
